Real Talk, For Real People, Seeking Real Change...

You may be reading this because you’re feeling overwhelmed, self-doubt, indecisive, lost or stuck. There are many related feelings, but fundamentally it is a sense of disconnect; Disconnect from our confidence, our relationships, our potential, our purpose in life, from control of our own story. If this resonates with you and you’ve somehow found your way to this website, then I’d like to help.

“Narratives work to influence those invisible yet influential worlds of thoughts, feelings and attitudes. In this way, narrative becomes something of a lifeline, influencing what we believe and ultimately choose to act on.”

– Laura Ligouri

“If you do not change direction, you may end up where you are heading.”

At Mile High Life Coach, I offer individualized programs using an integrated approach for Relationship, Career, Leadership and Life coaching in the Denver metro area. My process draws on Gestalt, cognitive behavioral (CBT), psychodynamic, leading in complexity and adult learning practices gathered from my M.S. training in clinical psychology, and my over 15 years of experience providing executive coaching, complex change management and leadership development for public institutions and non-profits serving children and communities.

I am offering Real Talk (not Five Feel Good Steps)  to support you to peel back and examine the layers of your story.

  • What you tell yourself.

  • Where those messages come from.

  • What happens when you question those messages.

  • And what is the more authentic and powerful story that you want to live into.

This approach isn’t the right fit for everyone. I specialize in helping people who have tried other coaching and therapy already, and are looking for a different more personalized process to achieve insight.

My clients have described it as good discomfort. It can be uncomfortable, but you know that it means you’re doing the right work, facing into barriers that you may have been circling for years. In the end, my goal is for you to feel Clear about your direction, Confident in your abilities, and Connected to yourself and your story.

Service Design

My coach practice is designed around monthly commitments with a mix of in-person and virtual sessions. The first month of coaching is more intensive and involves four 90-minute sessions (or the time equivalent). It is recommended that these sessions are in-person, with virtual sessions as needed. For this reason, I currently only accept clients located in or near Denver, Colorado.

I co-create your program with you, using a variety of methods. So your first month may include traditional coaching sit-downs, going for a long walk and talk, meeting with family and friends, opportunities for observation/feedback, and/or field experiments/practice. After the first month, the recommended frequency and length of sessions will vary client to client, and month to month.

The design and goal for each month of coaching is to peel at least one more layer, providing new actionable insights for your journey.

First Month Coaching Commitment

  • Four 90-minute sessions (or the time equivalent)

  • Personal summary of insights, resources and recommendations at the end of the month

  • $900

Mile High Life Coach is committed to increasing access to coaching. I have a limited number of reduced rate slots available for qualifying clients. Please let me know in your Consultation Request Form or email if you would like to be considered for a reduced rate.

About Stephen Chang, M.S.

“If there is no struggle, there is no progress.”

– Frederick Douglass

When I’m not doing individual coaching, I am the founder and executive director for Credible Change Consulting (www.crediblechange.com), providing complex change management, organizational development and leadership coaching to public institutions, non-profits, foundations and other public service & mission focused organizations across the country. I have been fascinated with the human dilemma and psychology my whole life; which led me to earn my B.S in Psychology from Cornell University, study Educational Psychology at Teachers College-Columbia University and earn my M.S. in Clinical Psychology from Pennsylvania State University.

I decided to expand into individual life coaching after leaning in to support some old friends during their difficult life transitions. Those experiences inspired me to bring all that I have learned and practiced over decades working with students, leaders, institutions and organizations to help people who have struggled to find effective support for their challenges. Although related to my consulting work, I enjoy the more personal and intensive nature of individual coaching. Very few of our challenges are purely personal or professional, and life coaching allows me to engage holistically with clients; To understand how relationships, career, health and purpose are all interconnected in their story and journey.

Prior to starting Credible Change in 2023, I was a managing director for the National Equity Project (www.nationalequityproject.org), a national non-profit providing leadership training, change management, strategy and design services to deliver on the promise of a quality education for every child in the United States. Through my work at NEP and Credible Change, I have worked with a wide range of organizations, communities and individuals as a partner, coach, bridge builder and catalyst. Much of that work has centered on supporting leaders to translate their concerns and goals into effective strategy, learning, practice and relationships.
